Revalations in Yoga
What am I doing with my life? I know that seems like a silly question. I'm getting my Masters in Reading and Language Arts, I'm teaching struggling students, I'm fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I'm training for two triathlons which I'll complete back to back, I'm a wife and doggy mother.
But really... What am I doing with my life?
In yoga today I started to think about balance (as I usually do in yoga). I need balance in all the things I've put on my plate. But I kept coming back to the question of why I'm doing all those things. I know, I know - there are super good reasons for all of them. But what I'm trying to get at, is that I realized that in all of those things I'm doing them for ME. (An old friend once told me that all the choices we make stem from selfish motivations. Its true.) But even with the business of my life I feel like there is something missing.
I believe that one of the purposes of being on this Earth is to give of yourself and help those around you. It is pretty easy to be a good person,(don't lie or cheat, be respectful, resonsible...) but it take some effort to go out of your way and freely give of yourself and time to help those around you.
I miss volunteering! I miss doing things for others just because its the right thing! There was a time in my life when most of my days revolved around freely giving of my time to cuases and people that I was pasionate about.
Now comes the question of how I'm going to juggle all that I've got going on, AND add to it.
It all comes back to balance.

i love you razzle. This is a great blog but sounds like you are too busy to write in it. I think you are doing amazing things for people and volunteering. The problem is that you aren't looking at it in the right light. You are focusing so much on how you are going to do that you are not realizing what you ARE doing for the ones around you. You don't need to add to it you just need to look at it differently. You are wonderful kind and amazing to so many people that you have never even met. You are changing lives in ways that teaches them in turn to change anothers life. That is pretty big. xo
